Arik Rinpoche was born to a noble family in Dege County, Sichuan Province. He showed undisputable signs of holyness since childhood- he came to master Tibetan language with ease, he was sensible, virtuous and kind, and never violated even the tiniest of rules. From an early age, he followed his guru receiving wisdom and learning the profound secrets of Tibetan Buddhism.
