Here is the story about
a Chinese postman - in fact about a hero who willingly defies the extreme
limits of life to perform his job in a sparsely-populated, almost inaccessible
area. Each and every month for the past 20 years, he has spent an average
of 28 days trekking along those dangerous trails on snow-clad mountains
to deliver mail.In that time, he has covered a total of 260,000 kilometers,
the equivalent of six times around the equator.

Memory
Although I was born and
raised in the city of Beijing, I always felt I came from a far away place.
Living Buddha Luo-gar told me that I was a Buddhist nun in the Kangguo
Temple in my previous incarnation. He gave me a new name: Rang-zong-kan-zhuo. Perhaps I was truly a Kang-ba native in
my previous life. Indeed, we
can discover where our hearts truly belong given the right opportunity and
the right time.

On July 13, 2006, the
Yin Ruins, ruins of a 3,300-year-old capital city in what is now Anyang
City in Henan Province, central China, was enshrined on the List of World
Heritage at the 30th Session of the World Heritage Committee (WHC) of the
UNESCO in Lithuania. Back in 2001, the Chinese archeological community prepared
a list of the 100 most important archeological discoveries made in the country
in the 20th century. The Yin Ruins, the site of the most ancient Chinese
capital city found so far, tops the list.

Two thousand five hundred
years after it was written, the Art of War is still acclaimed worldwide
as one of the greatest treatises on military science. The book is immortal,
indeed, having influenced not only military strategists and tacticians over
the centuries but also leaders of states, diplomats and business executives
across the world.

Transmission Of History
Our photographer Wu Xiaohui
came to Menglian in Kunming long before the Kukus and rain announced the
arrival of spring, ready to record the whole process of plowing. His goal was to reveal the truth behind
the "slash and burn" method of cultivation and to record the last
piece of fallow land before it all disappears at the village of the Wa ethnic
group that faces Myanmar across a river.
