SPORTS FOR HEATH IN TIBET
Article By
Ding Linghui
Tibetans
live on the vast highland of the world. They know the cruelty of the nature
and the mysteries and profoundness of the universe. They feel the weakness against
the wind, great lakes and vast wilderness. So they have to entrust their spirit
to the divine and that is why Tibetan Buddhism has become the lofty belief of
every member of the Tibetan nationality. The quintessence of Tibetan culture
is, to a large measure, in Tibetan Buddhism. The traditional culture of Tibetans
tallies with the Olympic spirit of peace, friendship and participation while
on the other hand it runs counter to the competition in the pursuit for "higher,
faster and stronger".

achievements in mountain climbing, few have attained the first rate level in
archery, javelin and some other Olympic events. Yet, the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau
is the birthplace of a profound sports culture.

By practicing Buddhism to keep in good health is a
unique tradition of Tibetan Buddhism.
