Jiang He

Jiang He has shown great interest in Chinese traditional painting ever since his childhood. Before he started to study ink-and-wash paintings at the age of 6, he had known about Chinese flower-and-bird painting from his mother. His passion for painting has never faded with the passing ages. Over the past 60 years, He insisted on practicing painting every day by copying masterpieces of Chinese traditional painting in ``Jieziyuan Collection'' and ``Flower-and-bird Paintings by Chinese Famed Artists.''

He has grasped various techniques in flower-and-bird paintings and is especially skilled in painting lotus, peony and eagle. His works feature the exquisite style of Chinese traditional ink-and-wash painting. In Jiang's brush, the white peony appears refreshing, elegant and delicate. Most of his paintings appear in calendars and New Year pictures. Some of them have been collected by museums, institutions and art-lovers including former President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Juan Antonio Samaranc.

Jiang is now president of Huaxia Calligraphy and Painting Institute.
