Chest  ornaments of Jino ethnic group in Yunnan Province .

The chest ornaments of ethnic groups in China, especially in South China, also give us a pleasant surprise. These ornaments include silver neckband, silver collar pin, silver chest plate and silver chest trappings. The common silver chest trappings have the shape of butterfly, bird, fish and man-riding-on-horse. With several tiers, sometimes even four or five tiers, each of them consists of silver chain, plate and pendant.

The trappings of butterfly shape maybe the biggest one, which is very popular along the Duliujiang River valley in Southwest China’s Guizhou Province. It is over 85 centimeters long and has five tiers. The trappings of bird shape look very primitive and rustic and are regarded as the most valuable by some people.
