I shall take all Ethnic Yao costumes into my lens

I used to know nothing about Chinese ethnic minorities. But one beautiful, unexpected encounter has changed everything. I am henceforth addicted to the culture of Chinese ethnic groups and vow to take all Ethnic Yao costumes into my lens. This is obviously a mission not so easy. Because the Yao ethnic group is the Chinese ethnic group having the most branches. Its costumes, in turn, are the most complicated among the ones of Chinese ethnic groups. However, I just fell spellbound by the tortuous history of Ethnic Yao people, as well as their breathtaking costumes. To photo all Ethnic Yao costumes is my entrenched ambition.

Since year 1997, I have visited 36 Ethnic Yao branches in 28 counties and municipalities of six provincial regions, including the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the Guangdong Province, the Yunnan Province, the Guizhou Province, the Henan Province and the Hebei Province. During the period, I took photos of 43 varieties of Ethnic Yao costumes that were colourful and exquisite. The shooting processes will remain with me as beautiful memories......
