This is a strange statement: Gaser is an unreal hero in life and is also        an exact hero in Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. Whether Gesar exist or not? The researchers both at home and abroad hold deferent points. But Tibetan people never doubt its existing.

Tibetan people are proud of that Gesar was born in Gyisuya, Degeaxu where is the juncture of Yellow River, Lancang Jiang River, and Yantze River. Gesar was brought up drinking the water of Yantze and Yellow Rivers. There is Gesar Temple built by chief of  Degeling. In the temple there are 30 heroes from Ling kingdoms and historic murals which depicting Gesar defeated 18 fronts of enemies. Tibetan people regarded that the Animaqing snow mountain is just the god Ling of ancient Ling kingdoms. It is also the mountain that Gesar’s soul living. The jade like Zaling Lake, Eling Lake and Zhuoling Lake are the water region where Gesar’s soul living.

There is a magnificent Bayankala Mountain. The local people are sure that Gesar was born in Damuweiduo along Mamaogequ River bank. Here the Tibetan people will show you the place where Gesar rode his horse and his throne after Gesar proclaimed himself king.

There is Mangkam along the bank of Jinsha River. Tibetan people are proud of not only its red mountains and red soil, but also the place where Gesar once lived. What is more there is a pasture where Vbrug-mo, Gesar’s wife tended there.

There is Himalaya Mountain. The Tibetan people are proud that Gesar was born in Bihu Pasture near the mountain. Because Gesar was named after the stamen of Tibetan jinlian in the snow mountain. The fragrant of flowers spread all over the world together with Gesar’s name.

Yet in the north part of Tibet, the local people regarded themselves as nationals of demons country. Their king is Duiaqong who once fought with Gesar. Even today the people from Shenzha, Naqu, Anduo and Bange are still telling the story of Duiaqong. Each time when they mentioned that Gesar murdered their king they still keep the story on their mind. Though Duiaqong was poor yet he never fleece his people. For the sake of love he occupied Mensa, the second wife of Gesar, by force. When Gesar fought with Duiaqong, Mensa spread sands under Gesar’s feet but under Duiaqong’s feet she spread soya beans instead. With the result that Gesar defeated Duiaqong. People from north Tibet still intervene on behalf of Duiaqong’s part. Though Gesar’s name was spread far and wide but some times he was not so frank and honest.

Fancy and dream are an inseparable composing part of the Tibetan people in their life. Many Tibetan people have vivid thinking and dreamlike world. They believe intuitionistic philosophy. They have stronger mysticism than any other nations.

In the life of the Tibetan people, Gesar is not simply a hero in a legend. He is just a person who lives around them for a thousand years. In fact, the solid attitude that the Tibetan people regard the story of Gesar infected people most. But it is really let people felt uncertain. Gesar made Tibetan people thinking that they are living in between the two worlds of reality and super-reality.

In the relic room, the little Living Buddha of Baiyu Temple shows the bow and arrow used by Gesar to scholars.

There is a room full of Gesar remains in Baiyu Temple, Baiyu County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. This house is locked by four different locks, and four different persons keep the keys. That means only when the four persons all present, can the room be opened. In June 2001, the delegate of “making an appointment in Gesar’s hometown” came here.  The monastery made an exception to open the mysterious relic room for scholars.
