A New Discovery of Gesa: Stone Sculpture System of the
Kingdom of Ling Character-Danba Mosic Gesar

   The found of stone sculpture system of the Kingdom of Ling character-Mosic Gesar in Danba County, Ganmei, Tibet Autonomous Region is an important discovery for Gesar culture of China in recent years. It has filled the blank of both stone sculpture of traditional Tibetan culture and Gesar culture itself.
   
The stone sculpture of Kingdom of Ling character-Danba Mosic Gesar is kept in six places respectively, which are local Jinlongsi Palace, Gesar Temple, Gesar Tower at Kasijiadu, Qingmaigazhen, Jialale, and Bazhaluore God Mountain. The amount of stone sculptures in each place is about 120 pieces at most and 80 pieces at least. The total number is about 600 pieces together with those kept among the local people. These stone sculptures are from three different times. The earliest one in Jinlong Palace has a history about 210 years.  The next is kept in Gesar Temple for around 175 years. The last is created in 90s of 20th Century (1991-1997). These stone sculptures from that three ages have some differences in terms of style, and are carved by the artists from different generations with various skills.
   
The stone sculpture of the Kingdom of Ling character-Danba Mosic Gesar is not created by accident, it is the core of Gesar culture. Due to the obvious feature and brilliant characteristic, it becomes the unique in the world.
